A book of the Great Americana Series. A repr int facsimile edition of the first printing of this title. The book was originally published in London 1670.This printing includes facsimile reproduction of 1670 edition, with its title page. [A Brief Description of New-York: Formerly Called New-Netherlands, With the Places Thereunto Adjoyning, Together with the Manner of Its Scituation, Fertility of the Soyle -- Likewise a Brief Relation of the Customs of the Indians there]. Green textured leatherette boards, gilt titles to front and spine, sharp and bright; leather spine label, gilt on green. Sewn binding. Denton's 'Descxription' provided in 1670 to English readers with their first close look at a colony which only a few years before had belonged to the Dutch.
