About This Item

Flagstaff, Arizona: Northern Arizona Society of Science and Art, 1938. Cloth. Very Good +/Very Good +. The 1938 1st edition, in a sharp example of the uncommon --and striking-- dustjacket. Tight and VG+ (very light soiling to the front panel, light spotting at the 2nd blank endsheet) in a bright, price-intact, VG+ dustjacket, with light spotting to the panels and very mild wear along the spine crown. Octavo, crisp black-and-white plates complementing Arthur Woodward's text. With Field Notes by Richard Van Valenburgh, Bulletin #14 from the Museum of Northern Arizona. (From the front dustjacket flap: "This is the first book on the subject of Navajo silver to give a comprehensive view of its history as influenced by the silver of the European settlers of the Eastern United States, the Eastern Indians, and the Spanish and Mexican colonists of the Southwest.").
