1817. Nichols, Son, and Bentley, F. C. and J. Rivington et al. London. 1817. First edition thus. 12mo. vii, [i], xlviii, 294 pages. Engraved portrait frontis. of Alexander Pope which is foxed. Very handsomely bound in half olive calf gilt. Marbled boards, slightly rubbed and marbled edges. Slight wear to edges and endpapers otherwise a remarkably clean and sound copy.

Boston: Little, Brown & Co.. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1856. Original Cloth. This three volume set reprints "The Guardian," which was printed from 12 March 1713 to 1 October 1713. Spine ends rubbed, plus some slight staining to the cover of volume one. There are a few loose pages & signatures. Not damaged or incomplete, just old (glue or stiching has come loose in spots). Appear to have been read little, if any. ; 4 1/2x7" .
