London: J B Nichols & Son , 1933. James Davidson (1793-1864) was an English antiquary and bibliographer who lived in Secktor House, Axminster. This is his first work on the discoveries in the Axe Valley it is noted for the accuracy of his research and writing.CONDITION Rebound with Brown cloth spine and Green bds, new eps, original wraps not bound in, Pp iv [2] 90 with frontis illus Ground Plan of the Town of Axminster, 3 single page plans and 3 steel engraving of Roman objects through text. Pages are untrimmed, folds at top cnrs of 2 pages, damp stain at edge of 3 lithos due to paper absorbancy, odd finger mark and a bit toned at edges.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
