Another in the author's widely acclaimed mystery series (which ran 1909-1942) featuring scholarly, bookish, New York City detective Fleming Stone. Orig. published in 1925, this is an A.L. Burt reprint, roughly same vintage. With navy blue cloth-covered boards stamped with gilt design to front & gilt lettering to front & spine, this hardcover12mo is in VG condition: generally very clean, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages moderately tanned, heavier around edges, but unmarked. The signature containing pages 261-268 is coming loose from its stitching, but still intact. Spine heavily sunned, very mild rubbing to extremities, bumped corners. NO DJ (missing).
