Palmer Cox was a Canadian author and illustrator best known for The Brownies, based on Celtic mythology and highland Scottish tales told to Cox by his grandmother. Brownies are small imaginary male sprites, who enjoy harmless pranks and helpful deeds and have never been seen by people.
This 1893 edition of 'Brownies at Home' is complete with 12 short stories and numerous black and white wood engravings and a color illustrated decorative binding.
