Inscribed and signed in the third person: "23 Bernard St. W / London. / March 15th 1869 / With Robert Buchanan's Compts." There is some rippling to the paper from the mounting & the verso of the mount is slightly foxed. The paper has been folded once for mailing. Good. <p>Robert Williams Buchanan [1841- 1901] was a Scottish poet, novelist and dramatist. After a period of struggle and disappointment, his first acknowledged book of poetry "Undertones" was published in 1863, although he appears to have disowned some earlier volumes later in life.
