Octavo, bound in three quarter crushed levant morocco by the Atelier Bindery for Charles Scribners Sons with gilt titles and ruling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, top edge gilt, title page in red and black. In near fine condition. Rare. Hermann Oldenberg contributed significantly to the understanding of Buddhist texts and played a crucial role in the study of early Buddhism.
