An attractive and comprehensive guide to the architecture of Florence and its builders, strongly dominated by the Renaissance movement. An impressive, beautiful work by J. Wood Brown. The first edition. Embellished with seventy-four illustrations by leading artist Herbert Railton, both full page plates and in text illustrations. Collated, complete.  In the original publisher's cloth binding with gilt tooling to the spine and gilt to the front board and gilt to the edges. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A faint soiling to the front board and some minor damp marking to the rear. With a minor bookseller sticker tot he front pastedown as well as Charles L. Farret's small stamp. internally, firmly bound. With a light foxing affecting the first and last few leaves and the odd faint minor spot to the occasional leaf, otherwise the pages are bright and clean throughout. Illustrated with seventy-four illustrations by leading artist Herbert Railton, both full page plates and in text illustrations. Collated, complete.  Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
