About This Item

New York: The Ronald Press Company. Very Good with no dust jacket. (1928). First Edition. Hardcover. Book is very good with a blue cloth cover, gilt lettering on spine. Cover has some stains and light wear. There are a few small stains (coffee, airplane glue?) on the text block edges. Binding is sound. No ownership or other marks in text. Lacking dust jacket. This book covers the state of model airplane building and flying when published. The author was with the Smithsonian Institution and prepared this book for the Playground and Recreational Association of America, which conducted local and national tournaments of flying models. The Committee which operated these tournaments included Orville Wright, Charles Lindberg, Richard Byrd and many other important aviators. The book contains detailed plans and instruction sufficient to recreate some of these early models. The Foreword includes a contribution by Orville Wright. ; Diagrams and Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 309 pages .

My business is strictly on-line sales. I carry an inventory of about 2000 books. About half of these are modern fiction. Most of the rest are scholarly academic books concentrated in the areas of natural science, philosophy, history, and literature.
