About This Item
San Francisco: Chronicle Books, 1978. The Jacobs family built two houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, including the first 'Usonian' house, and the more exotic 'Solar Hemicycle', and here recount their experiences including living in the houses and doing much of the work on the second house, after Wright was offended by a comment in one of the author's earlier books. Jacobs was a writer and reporter whose books include accounts of life in Wisconsin and a biography of Wright. INSCRIBED by the authors on the title page: "For Allan and Marjorie, with warmest love. April 20, 1979 Herb and Kick[?]" Allan and Marjorie [Kreilick] McNab were artists and an art administrator/professor then living in Madison. Oblong hardcover in jacket, as pictured. Light wear to book, but discolored patch on front cover where jacket was stuck - inner jacket delaminated, no visible damage externally, no damage to book interior; bookplate; jacket does show some edgewear including light creasing, short tear, light scuffing. Text clean; x, 147 pages + colophon; index, many b/w photos.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 10¼" by 8¾".
