Paperback with dw. 553 pp plus glossary, index of plates, index of artists, index of places, addenda.and blank pp. for notes. Dw has front flap present but detached; a little scuffed in places; one inch loss at top of spine; a couple of neat closed vertical tears (now in removeable transparent protector). Paperback itself a little scuffed at ends of spine, neat ink name to half-title but good+ clean and tight
