New York: Ives Washburn, 1951. Everyone but Johnny Liddell's client, a beautiful heiress, thinks it was suicide. When he goes to meet his client, someone tries to kill him, and the client has disappeared. Lightly bumped with a narrow damp stain to the lower rear board. A number and evidence of something removed on the rear pastedown, possible ex-library but no library indications. Tape residue on the front end paper and jacket flap. Jacket rubbed with chips and tears, including a 5" tear down the upper rear flap fold and 1" loss to the spine head. Spine tanned, price intact, in Brodart.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Fair.
