About This Item

New York: Metropolitan Museum, 1978. This is an almost very good softcover copy. The covers are toned, spine worn. This is Bulletin Spring 1978 which describes in detail the Alfred Stieglitz collection of photographs which became the foundation of the Metropolitan's Photography Department. In the early 1900's Alfred Stieglitz began collecting the works of his contemporaries, both European and American. This collection eventually grew and 580 works were bequeathed to the Met in 1949. Many photographs illustrated in black & white, usually a photograph on every page and at the end several pages with 54 works reproduced in thumbnail sized photos. Weston Naef is the author and editor of this bulletin. 11" high X 8" wide, 64 pages. Soft Cover. Good.
