The first half of the book provides descriptions and plans of the castles which are presented in the latter half on black & white plates depicting the castle remnants and statues that survive. With color frontis photo of Marqab castle in present-day Syria tipped in. Map of eastern Mediterranean area to rear endpapers. --- In white cloth-covered boards with titling in grey to cover and spine. Dust jacket repeats the image of Marqab. Book protected in stapled slipcase. --- An excellent copy: clean, bright and tightly bound.
