Appears unread, in publisher's original brown cloth boards, minor foxing to top edge of text block, light offset from pastedown on first endpaper page typical of books of this age, pages are clean, bright and binding tight. Dust Jacket Condition: VG+. Unclipped with the original price of $2.75 on the lower first inner flap, scattered foxing to flaps, micro-chips and creases to extremities typical of dust jackets of this age, jacket in professional collector mylar protector sleeve. Overall a about fine copy. Scarce signature and inscription on the first endpaper by pulp fiction author and comic book creator Kendell Foster Crossen. This is the first book of the 4 novel pulp fiction detective series featuring one of his most famous protagonists, Brian Brett, written by Crossen writing under the pseudonym Christopher Monig. The 1958 movie The Man Inside starring actors Jack Palance and Anita Ekberg was based on one of Crossen's novels in the series featuring the character Milo March. Paperback Library published all 21 novels of the series with cover art paintings by the the legendary pulp artist Robert McGinnis. Crossen wrote over 45 pulp fiction novels, 300 short stories, numerous screenplays and hundreds of radio scripts under many pseudonyms including; M.E. Chaber, Christopher Monig, Richard Foster, Bennett Barlay, Clay Richards and more. Crossen was one of the founders of the Mystery Writers of America. As of this writing, this is the only known first edition of this title signed by author Kendell Foster Crossen on the market. Crossen was editor of the pulp fiction magazine Detective Fiction Weekly, wrote featured stories in numerous pulp magazines such as Amazing Stories, Thrilling Wonder Stories, Startling Stories, Planet Stories and is the creator of the 1940's Golden Age comic books the Green Lama and Atoman.
