New York: The Macmillan Company, 1937. Reprinted June, 1937. Red boards, deckled fore and bottom edge, 361 pages. Orange dust jacket. Lightly rubbed on ends of spine and tips of corners, pinpoint black dot on front lower edge, subtle smudge (finger mark?) on front, vertical strip darkened along spine on endpapers, sparse foxing on edges else pages clean and binding firm. DJ darkened along top and bottom edge, on spine and along flap folds, moderately chipped and torn along top and bottom edge, else very good. Protected in mylar.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Synopsis
Partially based upon the life of Oakland entrepreneur "Borax" Smith, Burning Daylight was Jack London's best selling book during his lifetime. The novel is set in the Yukon Territory in 1893, telling the story of an adventurer, nicknamed “Burning Daylight,” who went to Alaska and laid the foundations of his fortune before the gold hunters arrived. Burning Daylight was adapted for American films in 1914, 1920, 1928, and 2010.
