About This Item
A & C Black, London, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Poor. Coloured frontispiece by I. H. Hartley. Red coloured boards with black decoration and writing on front panel and black writing on spine. Corners are bumped and rubbed and there is shelf wear evident to the bottom edges of the book. There has been a loss of colour to the spine and and to the front and back panels. Dust marks to the top page edge along with foxing which extends to all page edges and into the book. Gift inscription on the ffep. Bookseller's sticker on the front paste down and there are some marks to the front and back endpapers. Illustrated dustwrapper, the same as for frontispiece, with black and red writing on front panel and white in yellow on spine. The dustwrapper is faded and the corners are chipped. There has been chipping along the top edge most noticeable on the spine and on the bottom front panel closest to the spine gutter there is a triangular piece missing. Dustwrapper is now protected in library sleeping. On back panel of the dustwrapper a number has been stamped, 5933. A ripping yarn from the 1930s, where 2 children discover a hidden hoard of bushranger gold. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 248 pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
