About This Item

New York: Henry Holt & Company, 1986. 243 pages. Sue Grafton's scarce third Kinsey Millhone mystery. First edition, first printing with number line including "1". This copy is clean and tight in an attractive dust jacket that is clean and has the $14.95 price intact on the front flap. A previous owner has written her name on both front endpapers as well as the date of purchase on the free endpaper. There is a 1/4" slit along the front gutter that I missed the first 2 times I examined the book. The white dust jacket has mellowed slightly but has none of the soiling so common on this book. There is a faint water stain that comes up about 1/2" at the bottom of the spine and along bottom of front panel (again, this is so unnoticeable that I missed this also on my first examination). Much nicer than it sounds and certainly an acceptable copy for the collector--and at an attractive price.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good +. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.

Synopsis

"C" is For Corpse, Kinsey Millhone #3 Bobby Callahan approached detective Kinsey Millhone with a job proposal. His story was strange: he'd been seriously injured in a car crash that was caused by a tailgating car that knocked his vehicle into a canyon 400 feet below, killing the passenger, his best friend. The doctors had healed his body, but not his partial amnesia - Bobby knew someone was trying to kill him, but he didn't know why, and no one believed him. Can Kinsey help Bobby, and unravel the mystery behind his attack? Anthony Award for Best Novel (1987)
