Printed in same year as first printing, but lacking the misnumbering of pages noted. 1st edition. Julius Caesar war commentaries. Rare collection of civil war histories and Julius Caesar war commentaries edited and translated by Joseph Juste Scaliger. Joseph Justus Scaliger (1540 - 1609) was a French religious leader and scholar, known for expanding the notion of classical history from Greek and ancient Roman history to include Persian, Babylonian, Jewish and ancient Egyptian history. Collation complete with all pages: [24], 561, [71]. Illustrated with 3 folding maps and 6 illustrated leaves (including one medallion woodcut portrait). With engraved title page. Size 3" by 5".
