About This Item
Unique book with a tipped in color photograph of a San Fransico cable car on the half title page and a tipped in color card on the dedication page from the (assumed) previous owner to his wife with a Marion Cunningham illustration on the front. On the last text page before the Appendix there is also a color tipped in picture by Marion Cunningham. Finally, there is a tipped in print on heavy cardstock on page 132 before the References of the Powell Street Cable Car. Based on the page graphics around each of the tipped in images it is assumed they are part of the original publication.
Condition: Light tan cloth boards have the book title in a decorative design on the front board with a dark brown spine and yellow text. The spine has some wear at the top and bottom of the back strip, boards show slight cosmetic blemishes at the top front and rear. Corners have slight wear and bumping. The front and rear endpapers have a map of Nob Hill and images of historic homes. Text block is solid with all pages firmly attached. Slight age tanning throughout. Previous owner card on dedication page but otherwise interior pages are in perfect condition - clean, with no tears, cracks, or other previous owner marks. Filled with black and white photographs and illustrations.
