The account of the Gallic War as written by Julius Caesar (as well as the Third Book of his "Civil War"), prepared for an English-speaking student of Latin. In these conflicts, Caesar conquered much of France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Britain. Caesar's texts are presented in Latin with plentiful illustrations & maps, as well as additional illustrations & color maps on plates. Editors B. L. D'Ooge and F. C. Eastman have provided background information about Caesar and these battles, as well as end notes, guides to grammar essentials, Latin compositions, pronunciations and vocabularies following the text; and with footnotes within the text. --- In dark brown cloth-covered boards with titling & image of Caesar to cover; spine titling on orange spine block. --- A Good-only copy, with extensive penciled notations to endpapers, infrequent penciled notes within the text. A weakened front hinge has been repaired on this item, and with scuffing to cover extremities; else a sound, well-preserved copy.; 12mo - 7 to 7-1/2 in. tall; xl, 460, 120 pages .
