About This Item
London: Longmans, Green, 1949. Hardcover with unclipped dust jacket, 190 pages; book very gently used, gentle bumps to spine ends and cover corners but not a trace of shelf wear, spine gilt lettering very bright and clear, light foxing to top and fore edges and all four endpapers and adjacent pages, text pages very clean and unmarked; DJ rubbed outside, lightly foxed inside, numerous tiny chips measuring no longer than 2 or 3 mm and numerous very tiny tears of 3 mm or so, and 3 short tears ranging from 10-20 mm (quote from the inside panel: "The jacket is a reproduction of the packing paper in which the manuscript was wrapped---"; thus, the white spaces across the top are not chips, but that reproduction), overall a decent example of a fragile and scarce DJ. See also our listings for Benjamin Appel's We Were There at the Battle for Bataan, and for Freddie Guest's Escape from the Bloodied Sun, and for Juanita Redmond's extremely scarce I Served on Bataan.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good -/Good.
