Monday, ca. 1870, ALS to Miss MacGregor, two pages. Calderon was an English painter who initially worked in the Pre-Raphaelite style, especially the "St. John's Wood Clique," who patterned their work after the PRB. "I cannot tell you how very much sorry I am that I have not been able to get round to se your 3 pictures today. My own picture (I only have one) is so much behindhand that I have three models coming tomorrow (think of that) and plenty to do till my "show days" Saturday & Sunday..."
