London: Frederick Warne and Co, 1887. Decorative Cloth. Good+/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Printed in 1887, First Edition. Size 12mo, 385 pages. Publisher's original dark green cloth covered boards decorated with a black and gilt illustration of man and woman walking in woods by a lake, and large gilt titles, gilt titles and black leaf illustration to the spine, all edges gilt, brown floral patterned end-papers. Condition good, corners and edges rubbed, spine a little sunned a couple of minor marks to covers, hinges are cracked, end-papers toned, previous owner's label to front paste-down Miss Minnie Holmes, Keighley, a few spots to some pages here and there, else the contents are pretty clean. With a tissue protected frontispiece of Silas Hocking, with Facsimile signature.
