Paper over grey boards (7 7/8 in. x 5 1/2 in.) with book cloth covering spine (on old repair, most likely) White label paste-on with red lettering within green outline of railroad car on the tracks, to front board. scuffing, soiling and staining to boards, worn corners and general shelf-wear and sunning. Replacement paper label to spine, sunned, cracked and only partially there. Last letters of Roosevelt's name ("SEVELT") in pen. The text of fifty-two addresses delivered in the State of California on a major state tour during much of May, 1903.Frontis photo of the President at mid-term. (Tissue guard torn out and missing). Nineteen photographic illustrations. Age toning to text. Bookseller's ticket (Newbegin's, San Francisco) to rear pastedown.
