This book outlines the experiences of the Latter-day Saints from their first arrival in California to the present. The story began as the sailing ship BROOKLYN arrived in San Francisco Bay in the summer of 1846 with a cargo of three hundred LDS immigrants. Those refugees from persecution in the East soon made Yerba Buena, later to be renamed San Francisco, the first LDS colony in the West.
