Old rectangular paper tag with black border and printed guides to location with shelf marks added in pencil. 56 pp., 2 folding tables. *** FIRST and ONLY EDITION. Pinto defends his administration as governor of the bishopric of Leiria in 1834. The supporting documents begin on p. 35. Pinto's opponent, Antonio Luiz de Seabra, future Visconde de Seabra and at the time a deputy in the Côrtes, is (says Pinto) eloquent and talented; "Tudo terá elle em seu favor, menos a verdade."João de Deus Antunes Pinto (Alvaro, 1803-Lisbon, 1864) was canon of the see of Lisbon Desembargador da Relação e Curia Patriarchal, and attorney for the Casa Real.*** Innocêncio III, 362; see also X, 238. Porbase locates four copies, all at the Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal. Not located in Jisc. KVK (51 databases searched) locates only the copies cited by Porbase.
