About This Item
Toronto, Clarke Irwin & Co, 1968, hardcover, First Edition, First Printing, Very Good+ in Very Good dustjacket. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, slight spine end and corner wear, faint sticker ghost on front endpaper. Dustjacket unclipped bearing original price, light edge nicks, short closed edge tears to rear flap fold, in new Brodart sleeve. This biography of the great Reformer vividly brings to life the Reformation's earliest years and Calvin's struggles with those respectable, bourgeois citizens who rejected the belief that the church should determine how they lived their lives. Bibliography appended.
