About This Item

London: Whittaker & Co., 1834. Cloth. Very Good. 6" by 4". Pickering; F. Finden. An early 19th century travel guide to Wales, with two folding maps The eighth edition of this guide to travelling Wales by carriage, with two plates, two folding maps, and a folding chart. Beginning with a discussion of the Welsh language, this neat little volume acts as a tour guide for the post-chaise traveller, with a discussion of the characteristics of different regions, and the idiosyncrasies of their people. With eight sonnets to the rear. In the publisher's original black cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little rubbed to the boards, with some light wear to the extremities. Rubbed at the joints, which are starting, but firm. Internally, firmly bound, with the gutter visible at pages 160 to 161. Lightly foxed to the title page and near the plates, but otherwise pages are bright and clean. Very Good
