The first edition of this work. Written by Gertrude Bone, British author of short stories, novels, and illustrated collections.Illustrated with a colourful frontispiece and further black and white plates throughout by Muirhead Bone, Scottish etcher and watercolourist known for his depiction of industrial and architectural subjects. With unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper with loss to spine and wraps with few minor closed tears. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to fore edge, affecting particularly first and last few leaves as well as occasional page throughout. Otherwise, pages generally bright and clean. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
