Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Co., Inc., 1972. Book Club (BCE/BOMC) . Cloth. Very Good/Very Good-. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. After 2 years of disheartening war news for the Allies and 6 months of warfare with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, the victory for American troops there was pivotal in the Pacific War. Lots of photos, drawings, maps and other illustrations . Pale green boards show a little corner and edge wear and bumping to spine ends. A little spotting on page ends and one page dog-eared. Dust jacket has some creasing, and chipping with loss, especially on bottom spine end. 2" tear on front from top edge near hinge. Rubbing shows on colorful pic of battle at sea on front. Back cover has light background and shows some spotting. Overall intact and bright. Now in mylar cover.
