New York: Bryan, Taylor & Co, 1894. Hardcover. Poor/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Folio. 551 pages, indexed. Hardcover in blue embossed cloth with gilt title and illustration on front cover. Binding is rubbed, has damping and scuffs. Corners are bumped, rubbed down to boards. Headcap/foot are frayed, have cloth missing. The signature cloth shows. There is a 2 inch long split in the cloth on the right side of the headcap. Cloth on edges of boards is frayed in places. Patterned endpapers. Prior owner's signature on front pastedown, in pencil. "A. H.(?) Patterson, Jany 27, 1902". Text is toned, has dog-eared pages, Some smudges. Page 185 has some pinkish marks in lower right corner. Some pages have ragged edges. There are photographs throughout.
