About This Item
Toronto: Macmillan Canada, 1979. Soft cover. Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and tight -- no marks, not even the name of a previous owner. The paper has started to tan, but that is the only fault. The paper covers are also in excellent condition, with minimal wear. Synopsis: "The Canadian federal system ... is the product of the complex decision taken by the Fathers of Confederation in the 1860's. That decision, the political elite who took it, and the milieu in which it was taken are the focuses of this volume. As background, the authors provide coherent summaries of the historical antecedents of Confederation, and of the main theories of Canadian political development".
