About This Item
Edmonton, Alberta: Canadian Association for Publishing in Philosophy, 1971. First Edition . Trade Paperback. Very Good. Editors included John King-Farlow. Kai Neilson, Terrance Penelhum, William W. Rozeboom, C. G. Morgan andH. J. Robinson. The journal came into being because its sponsors felt that the rapid expansion of the philosophical researches in Canada in the previous few years (1960s) had reached a point where there was ample justification for publishing another journal in this country, alongside Dialogue. Papers in the first issue include: Descartes on Sensation (Zeno Vendler), Knowledge without Observation (C.B. Martin), Lewis and Quine on Private Meanings and Subjectivism (H. T. Wilder), The Influence of Agents (James D. Wallace), Narrative Explanation and the Theory of Evolution (Michael Ruse), Bodily Motions and Religious Feelings (Gareth B. Matthews), Can and Might (K. W. Rankin), Believing Things (Robert C. Coburn) and Legal Paternalism (Joel Feinberg). Minor edgewear and small coffee stain on bottom of back cover, pages clean, tight and free of any markings, 124pp. INAUGURAL ISSUE. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
