In pictorial cloth with gilt titling and two color nouveau decoration to upper cover, 8vo, 127 pages. Contains 9 poems in all (reprinted from various sources); notable for the generic turn-of-the-century poses of Black Americans in the photographs, as well as for Armstrong's decorative work. State "B" of title page (printed black and green); "First edition published October, 1901" (title page verso); Date of MDCCCCIV (foot of title page). LIght shelfwear and rubbing to extremities, sm. puncture tear to spine cloth at upper tip, inner hinges cracked/block shaken)
