New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1979. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Five Volumes 8vo., 148pp. Beautiful Stated First American Editions of Lessing's Magnus Opus, published between 1979 and 1983. Uniformly bound in black cloth with titles in gilt on spine. All volumes are square, tight, and clean throughout with little or no wear. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jackets , ($15.95), have a hint of edge-wear and Volume 1 has a 1" closed tear on the rear panel. All are fresh and bright with no chipping, creases, or toning. A gorgeous collectable set at a great price.
