London.: Illustrated London News. January 10,1857.. Two half-page engravings (14.5 x 23 cms), incomplete descriptive text, on a single newspaper leaf, marginal spotting and edge-wear, but in very good condition. Tranquil views of Canton (Guangzhou) months prior to the attack on (and four year occupation of) the city by allied British and French troops during the time of the Second Opium War.
