Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1865. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. 12mo. (6),252pp. followed by 24pp publisher's catalog dated December 1864. Original brown pebbled cloth, gilt spine title, and with the boards blocked in blind. Chocolate coated endpaper. Spine tips and corners worn, cloth rubbed, spine and inner hinges neatly mended, else a very good copy.

Thoreau's account of his travels and explorations on Cape Cod is considered his most genial book, and one of his most appealing. Published in 1865 after his death, Thoreau's CAPE COD remains an indispensable guide to the area.
