Porpoise Press, Edinburgh, 1931. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Freda Bone. Inscribed by Author. Part history and part singing manual of sea shanties/chanties. Bone was one of the last generation to work on 'square sail' merchant ships and had first hand experience of these songs being used to help with the hard work. The author has doodled a bar of music on the front free endpaper and added the message 'Done by David W. Bone'. Book is clean, sound and presentable.
