London: Blackie,. Very Good in Fair dust jacket. 1924. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Frontis b/w - 'From bronte' - 5 more b/w - pp56, 120, 176, 216, 256. Flyleaf box has Captain Peggy at top then 26 titles beneath as it should be, with Fortunes of Phillippa at bottom. A very nice copy with just a very light smattering of foxing; also laid inside is the original publishers insert with the precis of the story sent out with the book, printed in red oncream paper. In very good + condition. The dustwrapper front and rear is almost complete but unfortunately the spine is largely missing, although what remains of it still attaches the front to the rear; ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

A gift inscription on front fixed endpaper. Light mark to fore edge, otherwise an about fine copy in the dust-jacket which has a small chip and tear to the foot of the spine but is otherwise near fine.

In overall good used condition in a poor dust jacket with minor signs of age, handling and storage - dust jacket chipped and torn, now repaired and in protective wrapper; illustrated boards slightly rubbed but remain overall clean and crisp. Binding tight and appears little read. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions; toning and light spotting to page-ends but text and illustrations bright and clear throughout. Not an old library book.
