A lovely and uncommon first edition copy of this exciting Agatha Christie novel, generally considered to be one of her best. The uncommon first edition, first impression.This novel was originally serialised in the US in 'The Saturday Evening Post' in six installments from May to June 1936, before being published in book form.An exciting and classic Hercule Poirot murder mystery, this particular novel being notable for having the first appearance of Ariadne Oliver in a Poirot novel.Written by the queen of crime fiction, Agatha Christie. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Very minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. A few spots to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a few scattered spots. Very Good Indeed

Synopsis

Mr. Shaitana was famous as a flamboyant party host, but he was a man of whome everybody was a little afraid. So, when he boasted to Hercule Poirot that he considered murder and art form, the detective had some reservations about accepting a party invitation to view Shaitana's private collection. Indeed, what began as an absorbing evening of bridge was to turn into a more dangerous game altogether . . .
