New York: John Lane, 1917. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/good. First edition in dust jacket. Light shelf wear to tips, corners and edges of the book, spot to front board, more wear to the jacket which is rubbed, chipped at front corners, soiled, bookseller's label to front endpaer, else clean and unmarked. First printing, same date, no others noted in book or on jacket. Coningsby Dawson (1883–1959) was an Anglo-American novelist and soldier, (Canadian Field Artillery,) born at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. After moving to America Dawson became a literary advisor to the George H. Doran publishing house. He began his training with the Canadians in 1914 and was at the front for most of two years beginning in 1916. Most items ship with tracking numbers and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
