Cascadia Ascendant is a new zine series originating in PDX. Its goal is to provide relevant perspectives on issues facing the current "movement of movements." There is a worldwide resistance to domination in all its forms, one that resonates strongly with the Pacific Northwest's history of environmentalism and Labor organizing. It was for a reason that George HW Bush called Portland "Little Beirut".
The zine advocates not for the romantic ideal of Cascadian nationalism, but for concrete changes and development of social architecture that would allow people to shake their dependency on the current system.
