The Amalgamated Press Ltd/ Sexton Blake Library, London, 1954. First Edition. illustrated Paper. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Black-and-white illustration at the beginning of the story, showing a policeman and another man going towards a drowned aeroplane. Illustrated front cover, showing a policeman restraining another man, with yellow and blue coloured titles to the front panel and blue on the spine. The illustration on the front cover is in colour. The story has been written in panel form -- as for a newspaper. A " Thrilling Detective Novel", part of the Sexton Blake series -- number 295. "A pilotless plane crashed into a swamp. It was the private property of Lord Hullingsford; the fact that he was missing developed into a first-class mystery.". The book is rubbed, very grubby and a faded. Creasing and scuffing to all edges and there is chipping to the head and to the heel of the spine with a little loss. The spine is somewhat faded and chipped as well. Internally, the pages are brown and a little foxed and there are occasional stains as well. The area around the staple has become discoloured, and the staple is rusted. The covers have started to come away from the book of the book. The edges of the page are very brown. Size: 12mo (standard paperback). 64 pages. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
