About This Item
A first trade paperback copy, published by Basic Books, 2004. The epic story of World War I, Stevenson's view is that the events of the war were not entirely out of the control of the political leaders of the time. Instead, the events were the result of conscious choices, including the acceptance of the escalating number of casualties. 564 pages with Index, Bibliography, Notes, and a section of photos. This is not a remainder copy, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. One very light crease to the spine, which is not very visible - photos attached. Two of the pages in the photo section have diagonal crease marks to the top right corner. Binding is tight and square. Edges of the text block are clean. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
