About This Item
One of the more impressive American trade catalogs of the nineteenth century. Most of the catalogs published by Mott between 1873 and 1905 are described in Romaine, who states that the company "issued many of the finest pictorial catalogs of ornamental ironwork." The variety of fountains, urns and other iron garden furnishings is truly astonishing, and the scale of the illustrations, obviously necessary to convey an accurate sense of many of the richly detailed objects pictured, results in a graphically dazzling and convincing presentation. A genuine classic of its genre. Scarce in the market-place today. OCLC locates only one copy of this edition.
REFERENCES: Romaine, p. 258.
CONDITION: Good, large repaired tear across bottom of title page, occasional light staining with little effect on images.
