NY: Davenport Press, 1987. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. xvi+279pp+8pp bibliography. First printing thus. Front free end paper inscribed to a former owner "In memory of George Milburn, whom I wish you had known," by Milburn's widow Mary. Full tan cloth with gilt spine titles, in fine condition. Unclipped "$18.95" jacket bears several short closed tears along top edge of front and rear panels, with a shallow band of loss at the head of the spine. Reprint of Milburn's under-appreciated classic novel, originally published in 1936, detailing the effects prompted by the arrivalf of the Montgomery Ward and Sears Roebuck catalogues on a cast of more than 70 characters living in a small Oklahoma town.

All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.
We take safe shipping very seriously; all of our books are packaged in new cardboard boxes amply cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. Pamphlets and other flat materials items are ocassionally shipped in bubble-mailers with internal cardboard supports. All books with dust jackets are fitted with brand new archival protectors prior to shipping.
