Large format, genuine leather binding with a mounted color illustration on the front cover bordered with bright gold decoration, all edges gilt, silk moire end-papers, ribbon bookmark, this copy is in excellent condition with one minor flaw only: the publisher's bookplate has been affixed to the inside of the front cover and contains the former owner's name, 216 pages, features stunning color photography, "The book examines how the various types of 'basilica' and 'cathedral' have evolved. It covers the major historical turning points of church architecture, from its Early Christian, Romanesque and Gothic origins, through its evolution in the Renaissance and Baroque periods, right up to the latest contemporary architecture" .

Synopsis

After obtaining an architecture degree, Graziella Leyla Ciagà completed a doctorate in Architectural and Environmental Conservation, focusing her research on the restoration of monuments. She is a professor of history of architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan, where she also works as a researcher on the history of Italian architecture, focusing on the technical and construction aspects of architecture.
