First Zen Institute of America, 1947. First edition thus, 72p, frontis. photo, b/w photos. Reproduced in facsimile with Foreword, Appendix, Glossary and Index. Oversized hardcover, black-lettered gray cloth with appropriately yawning cat on front board, with thin 2" scratch and stain near top edge of front board extending to outer edges of pages (1") with barest penetration into page margins, otherwise in very-good condition. Sokei-an Zenji was the first Zen master to establish a temple in the West, and Cat's Paw contains almost all of his writings in English.
